Our Favorite Educational Games for Kids [2021 UPDATED] (K-6) Pt. 3

Gaming has taken over our kid’s attention — and for a good reason. They’re fun! You may have noticed your kid glued to their console, tablet or computer at home playing Fortnite or Minecraft or Among Us  all day. Stop! And think twice before you rip them away from their screens. Research suggests that “playing video games can change the brain regions responsible for attention and visuospatial skills and make them more efficient” (Science Daily)

Although, some games are better than others and while all games have some “nutrients” for the brain, certain games are packed with them. We’ve put together a list of the best and most neuroneutritious of them all bringing us to one website that’s the best at gameifying learning we’ve seen yet.

This  brings us to Abcya.com. A website with leaning apps and games for kids Pre K- Grade 6 based off of common core curriculum standards for each grade level. On each level, all the games are organized by five types:

  • Letters

  • Numbers

  • Holiday

  • Strategy

  • Skills

Each game is designed to support a specific set of Common Core Standards for different skills that need to be developed based on each grade level.
